BRAND SPOTLIGHT: Rocky Mountain Soap Company

The next part in my series highlighting amazing Canadian-based natural or eco-friendly cosmetic companies will feature Rocky Mountain Soap Company. To re-iterate my purpose in this series, many brands use very scary ingredients in their cosmetics- things that are poisonous and toxic! Our skin is our largest organ, and it will consume anything you apply topically, or ingest via your mouth/eyes. All these chemicals can wreak havoc on our biochemistry, and the more you're exposed, the more endocrine disruptors your body has to deal with. In the USA, the FDA only tests 11% of the 10,500 ingredients approved for safe use in cosmetics (Master Your Metabolism, J. Michaels). Ingredients like mercury, lead, toluene, formaldehyde, parabens, placenta, phthalates, and triclosan are all lurking in some of your drug store and department store branded cosmetics.

It is important to me personally to shop Canadian brands and support my local economy. I also like to use as many natural cosmetics as possible because I don't like to expose myself to more chemicals and toxins than I have to. In today's world, it is impossible to live fully 'clean', but every little bit helps! Rocky Mountain is an amazing Canadian based company that is 100% natural. YES, 100%! How awesome is that?! This company only uses ingredients that are found in nature that have a positive effect on our bodies. Their website even lists common cosmetic ingredients that should be avoided, and why. They strive for zero environmental impact and do not test on animals. They note that our skin can absorb anywhere from 21-94% of what is put on it! It makes sense that if you wouldn't eat something, you shouldn't apply it to your body. That is why Rocky Mountain only uses natural ingredients that are safe and have no possible harmful effects on the human body.
Rocky Mountain has a wide range of absolutely fabulous products. For the excellent quality you receive, their products are extremely well-priced. A good blogger friend of mine, Jamie from Beauty and the Gamer swears by their foot butter, which she says will keep your feet baby soft! I personally have been loving their coconut lipbalm, which is 100% natural and moisturizes my lips to perfection! If you're going to go natural with anything, it should be lip care items!! We all know that you lick your lips and end up consuming what you put on them, so natural is totally the way to go. They also have a fabulous all natural skincare line, including products to fight acne! I will have to get my hands on some of their anti-acne products.

Rocky Mountain Soap Company is very dedicated to being eco-friendly. Their products are all biodegradable and not harmful to our watersheds and ecosystems. They also use minimal packaging, without the use of secondary packaging. They've taken things even farther by giving incentives to their staff to car-pool, cycle or walk to work. They recycle everything possible in their factory- even their paper towels in the washroom!
This is a fabulous Canadian company that sells a wide array of products- stop by their website to check out their entire line, from soap to deodorant to perfume! Rocky Mountain Soap products are also sold at independent retailers- check out their website to see if there is one near you. Luckily for me, I have a shop that sells their brand in my area of Ontario, but they are mainly located out West from what I can tell. I would highly suggest products from this company for gifts- they make things especially for men and Father's Day is just around the corner!! Every little bit counts when going 'natural': this company has lovely, effective products that are 100% natural. You owe it to yourself and your family to make the change- it may cost a little more to go natural but the health benefits outweigh the monetary cost in my opinion.

Have you tried anything from Rocky Mountain Soap Company? Tell me about it!!

    1. are you in the East? They don't have many stores that sell their stuff yet unless you live out West. I've only seen them in Stratford, Ontario. However, they have great online services and you can buy anything from their website that they carry.

  8. Their soaps are beautiful!! I use to have my own soap business and there was a site we all belonged to and we use to have soap etc swaps just so we could try each others products... I was lucky to try their soaps years ago that way. Another great site for natural soaps is https://busyebodye.com/ She even sells her soaps by the loaf so you can cut off what you like or make a bunch of gifts up etc... I love natural soaps and you can even grate up your small ends and use them for laundry soap!

  13. Oh my, what to say! My fave brand. I use their oj soap for my face ( good for acne/ oily skin), their avocado bar for the skin on my back since its so sensitive and I'm currently using. Christmas soap for my body. I use their tea tree stick for zits and dry spots ( it has cocoa butter in it so it isn't drying) I live their lip balms, scrubs, body butters and their new body lotions are divine. I'm a bit of a fan, no? :)
