Rocky Mountain Soap Company Haul

I received a lovely package from Rocky Mountain Soap Company in the mail. They were kind enough to send me some products to try out for my blog and review! I love their box packaging, check it out:

Rocky Mountain Soap is clearly a very fun and playful company. They remind me a lot of my absolute favourite company, LUSH cosmetics. However, they actually have a step up on LUSH because they are 100% natural! This is awesome, because their products are truly guilt-free. This Canadian company is based out West, and they are not in as many retail locations in Ontario where I am located. I have seen their products in Stratford, Ontario. If you want to try their stuff out, I would suggest going to their website and ordering online if you do not live out West.
Look at all the goodies I was sent! I was absolutely blown away by their generosity. I have already used their lip butters and knew what to expect: they are AMAZING. I was sent coconut, apricot and peppermint. The coconut lip butter is almost unflavoured: they use natural coconut and as such, it is very mild. Peppermint is very vibrant and definitely my favourite! I love the tingly feeling it leaves. Apricot is also very lovely and smells delicious!! Their lip butters are supremely moisturizing and really last on the lips. They definitely work as well as my favourite lip balm, Honey Trap by LUSH. As they are 100% natural, you need not worry about licking them off your lips and consuming the product- it is all good :)
I received a bottle of their Pomegranate Day Cream, which is meant to nourish, protect and combat the signs of aging with anti-oxidant rich pomegranate oil. This cream also contains willow herb which soothes the skin. I have been sticking with oil-free moisturizers for the summer. This natural moisturizer contains sunflower seed oil and shea butter. I gave it to my sister Holly to try out, and she will be reviewing it once she's used it for a good solid 3-4 weeks.
I was very excited to see a bottle of their Aloe Hydrating Toner in my package. I am getting low on my go-to toner, LUSH's tea tree water. This toner contains aloe and witch hazel, alongside jasmine oil. It smells very lightly floral. I usually do not like floral scents, but I love the smell and feel of this product! I will do a comprehensive review on it in a little bit.
The Rocky Mountain Rosehip Cleansing Oil scares me a little bit. The idea of lathering my face in oil to clean it seems a little bit backwards to me! Apparently, their cleansing oil is based on the ancient homeopathic practice of using oil to dissolve oil. Rocky Mountain Soap Company claims that those with oily skin will benefit from the balancing effect of this cleanser, which is made with rosehip and jojoba to soften and loosen blackheads, rose and sandalwood to calm and soothe, and arnica to reduce redness.
I was sent a lovely bottle of their Lemongrass Hand & Body Wash, which smells amazing!! We will be using this in our bathroom as a hand wash soap because I just love the lingering scent!
Lastly, I received a bottle of their all-natural deodorant! Any long-time readers of my blog will know I am a huge advocate for natural deodorant!! I was sent the unscented version and I am using it daily to try it out. Expect a full review coming up soon!

I am so pleased to be able to review these products for everyone- I think this is a fantastic company with great values. I definitely intend to place an order soon to get my hands on their foot butter and 'break out buster', too!

  1. I Just read that list of ingredients to stay away from and was blown away. It's actually quite scary! The side effects are just horrible, and now a days a lot of these ingredients are included in MANY beauty items. Thanks for the review:)

  3. Ohh these all sound really good. I love lip products that tingle so the peppermint is going to be on my mind for awhile. It's good to see another company that is conscious of what they are putting in their products.

  11. Lucky you! I've never heard of them before...and I feel bad b/c I do live on the west coast! When I read "Rocky Mountain" I thought "ooh..she's going to do a food post" since Rocky Mountain Fudge Factory is pretty popular here. Everything you received sounds so lovely..and frankly..delicious enough to eat! I'm excited to read your review on the natural deodorant. I've recently really been wanting to try an all-natural deodorant!

    1. Just out of curiosity, how do you feel about a large number of Lush products having parabens in them? Like Ocean Salt, the shower jellies, Dream Cream or Lemony Flutter?

      Delete
    2. here is what LUSH says on parabens: https://www.lush.co.uk/ingredient/detail/id/563/name/Propylparaben

n my opinion, the verdict is still out on parabens, which occur naturally in many foods we eat! LUSH has spoken out on parabens, saying:
"Over the years we’ve produced more unpreserved cosmetic products than any of our competitors. We only use two preservatives that have the longest history of use. We don’t believe in the animal tests that purport to show the modern preservatives to be safe and believe that you, the customer, are experimented on by those people that use them."
It is true they use parabens in tons of their products. From the research I have done, there is no conclusive evidence that parabens are bad for us. There are studies that indicate that they 'may' cause cancer etc., but the same can be said for many things. I personally do not have an issue with LUSH using parabens, but I certainly like to opt for products without parabens as well.

    3. Yeah, I'm with you on that. If I have a non-paraben option, sure I'll go for that one, but it's true that nothing conclusive has been confirmed. It's all light correlation which certainly isn't proof! I noticed that Lush only used certain parabens in their products so I knew there had to be a reason for it! I just wanted to see what your take on it was. Thank you for sharing!

    4. It is true that some parabens are natural, but in nature they are not in the concentrations usually found in body care products, and the fact remains, they are estrogenic. I prefer to err on the side of caution.

  17. Interesting review. I'm always afraid to use new beauty products, especially ones that are labelled "organic" and what not. To me, they tend to be overpriced and the justification that something is "organic/natural" doesn't do it for me. And I'd rather not pay too much in case I end up not liking the product. I guess these are worth a look though!

    Sincerely,
    Sabrina

    1. I think you get what you pay for- it is worth it to buy all natural, but you need to read labels and ensure you are getting what is promised!!

I found their deodorant was not effective oon me unfortunately :( but I love everything else. Their Christmas collection is coming out soon, and I'm already composing my list, as I want to buy one of everything but I can't afford that :)
