REVIEW: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters - Creme Brulee, Tutti Frutti + Strawberry Shortcake

If you haven't heard of the Revlon lip butter collection, I am here today to introduce you! However, I am pretty sure most of my readers will already know about this much talked about lip product.
Revlon says that this product is a buttery balm with beautiful shine that gives you soft, healthy and glowing lips. This lip butter is made with mango, shea and coconut butter to moisturize while also giving sheer to medium colour.
I have been slowly growing my collection of these lip butters, picking one up when they're on sale. I started out with Strawberry Shortcake, which is a Barbie pink- very bright and pastel-y. I will say this is my least favourite of the three I have. It is a little too vibrant on the lips for me, and looks very fake and unnatural. It also makes my teeth look more yellow, which is the case with most very pink lip colours.
My second buy was Tutti Frutti, which is an orangey colour. I wanted something coral, and this is what I picked. It looks nice on. It is definitely more sheer, compared to Strawberry Shortcake. I love the way it looks, but I usually layer it with a clear gloss because it can go on patchy looking.
My newest addition is Creme Brulee. I love nude and neutral lip colours, so this is not unlike other colours in my collection of lip products. It looks great on, and once again, it is not as opaque as Strawberry Shortcake.

Overall, this is a nice product. It is not nearly as moisturizing as I was expecting though! It goes on smooth at application, but as I continue to wear the product I truly feel like it dries my lips out and leaves them feeling parched! I would recommend layering this product with another lip balm underneath. I love the colour these lip butters provide- it is just enough, nothing overly dramatic. I also like their ever so mildly sweet scent and the packaging! The wearing time on these seem to vary. I find Tutti Frutti to last the longest out of the three I have, and Creme Brulee to last the shortest. All in all, this is a lovely creamy lip butter that gives great colour. I would recommend these to you all, so long as you know that they're not quite as moisturizing as claimed! However, for a lipstick product, they're much more moisturizing than most.

  1. I've got quite a few of these! Candy Apple, Sweet Tart, Lollipop, Creamsicle, Gumdrop, and another light pink I can't recall. My favorites are Candy Apple and Lollipop. I also like using these over lipsticks that dry my lips out.

  2. I think I'm the only beauty blogger who doesn't have one of these! lol I did get a little sample of one in my target beauty bag but I didn't really care for it. Your so right about it feeling like it dries your lips out after awhile.

SN: The domain name was only $10 for 1 yr and I bought it through Google in the the settings section of your blogger dashboard. It comes with a custom email address and some storage too.

  3. I have got a little overboard on these. You're right, not as moisturizing as I expected but the colors are so pretty. Now, I switch between the lip butter and the Loreal Color Riche balms. They are much moisturizing and quite sheer.

  5. I LOOOOOOVE Revlon lip butters! I also have Tutti Frutti - and honestly, it's one of my least favourite shades. I'd highly recommend Pink Truffle (SUPER moisturizing and a lovely shade) as well as Sweet Tart (because it's such a fun and bold pink - it's also a bit blue based..so it should make your teeth appear a touch more white).

  6. I have one of these and it's ok. I am so very picky about what goes on my lips. They have a nice color on their own, and I think I look weird with a lot of lipstick on!

    1. it is good to be picky! they're something that I enjoy, but they don't live up to their claims fully!

  9. I own peach parfait and creme brule :) I also found them to be not as moisturizing as everyone makes them out to be! I still love them though.

  10. I have tutti fruiti which I love! However, I did purchase peach parfait and really dislike it, the blue glitter gives it an unappealing texture and when the colour wears off the glitter remains which isn't very flattering.. just my opinion I know people who love that colour.. just not me!

    1. yes I think they all vary slightly in how drying they are- for me I think tutti frutti is more drying than the others.

  14. I only have Cotton Candy.. and I don't really like it.
I wouldn't go out and buy another one.. I don't feel like they are that great to what they claim!

    1. I think they vary as far as how moisturizing they are, and how well they stay on! if you see them on sale, it might be worth trying another shade!

  15. I love mine too.. I have cupcake, gumdrop, strawberry shortcake and I believe the other is lollipop. They are on sale at walmart for 6 something so that isn't too bad. I would like to get a few more colors I think. If you find them really drying on your lips.. put a little eye cream on them before the lip butter that should help some!

    1. thanks for the tip!! I usually pay $7.99 for mine, or just a bit less than that. 6-something sounds like a great price!

    2. Yw! They have been that price now here for the last month or so..

  16. I actually only have one, Strawberry Shortcake. I only like it if I wear concealer under it because it makes it more of a light pink. It isn't really long lasting on me and it does make teeth appear more yellow. I do like the color it gives off when I do it that way, however.
I do want to try Tutti Frutti next, though.
