Pricey Beauty-Buy Fails!

Carrying forward from my last post on Cheap Beauty-Buy Wins, I am now going to talk to you all about three of my priciest beauty-buy FAILS! This is not a fun topic- no one likes doling out the cash and being left disappointed in the investment. Of course, it happens to the best of us and sometimes companies really do let the consumer down with false promises.
Here are my Pricey Beauty-Buy Fails:
#1: stila's Forever Your Curl mascara. A tube of this mascara retails for $29.00. This is one of the smudgiest mascaras I have came across in memory! This product left dark residue all under my eyes and I honestly looked a mess when I wore it! On top of this, it did not live up to its claims for me-- I didn't notice any curling, and it gave me 'spider' lashes with no added volume.
#2: Origins Mega-Bright Skin Tone Correcting Serum. I am a huge fan of Origins as a brand- they put  good quality ingredients into their products which makes them worth the cash in my eyes. However, this $70.00 serum was supposed to help lessen my dark marks and acne scars and it didn't help me out AT ALL! It was a huge waste of money for me because it just didn't work.
#3: LUSH Lovely Jubblies. This is a $25.00 breast firming cream. LUSH says it is packed with tightening, firming and moisturizing ingredients to firm up your cleavage area. First off, it smells very strongly of roses so if you dislike that scent (like me) it will be intolerable. This is an extremely fragrant cream and if I put it on in the morning, by late evening the scent was still very noticeable. Secondly, it didn't firm up my ladies at all. Definitely not worth the cash. To me, this is just a glorified body cream that smells of roses!

LET'S TALK! Comment and tell me about your priciest beauty-buy fail! Maybe you can save another girl some money by giving fair warning about disappointing high-end products :)

  1. Ohh no I can't believe the origins was $70.00 and it didn't do anything:( I always thought the Lovely Jubblies cream sounded interesting but I don't think I would dish out the cash on it (especially after reading from a couple bloggers that it doesn't work)

    1. Yes I know, I rarely shell out that kind of money for a serum and after my bad experience with Origins I doubt I will shell it out again until I am old enough to require expensive wrinkle creams!!

  2. I bought the Origins Super Spot Remover which isn't crazy expensive but you do get a very small bottle and it did nothing for me.. I still use it every now and then hoping it will magically start to work. lol

    1. woohoo I am glad to have saved you some major money! Of course, these products may affect different skin types in different ways- you should ask for a sample to take home before purchasing the full size.

    1. I bought mine online- if I'd smelled it in person I know I wouldn't have purchased it! However there must be people out there who do enjoy the scent or else why would they make it smell like that? lol.

    1. As I said to another commenter- it *could* work for you as all skincare product effect people differently but for me, it was a huge FAIL! Ask Sephora for a sample to try before splurging on the full size.

  8. I did hear that the lovely jubblies helps with firming the face. Maybe you could try that? Although the rose scent probably would be even stronger. Or maybe on any other parts that need tightening?

  11. You definitely have saved me money with this post! My fail would have to be Smashbox Skin Correcting Primer (the green one). It suppose to correct redness in the skin but I couldn't see a difference. The light one for oily skin I really like but the correcting one was just a waste of my money!
