REVIEW: LUSH Emotional Brilliance Liquid Eyeliner in Fantasy

LUSH Liquid Eyeliner in Fantasy ($22.95)
When LUSH announced their new makeup collection, Emotional Brilliance, which was recently released in July '12, I was eager to check the entire line out. It includes cream eye shadows, liquid eyeliners, lip colour that can double as cheek colour, mascara, a setting powder and some highlighting skin tints. This is a big expansion for LUSH, who were primarily a bath and body company. I looked through the new eye colours, and Fantasy ($22.95) was the #1 pick that stood out to me. It is a gorgeous, lustrous gold liquid eyeliner.
LUSH states that Fantasy comes with a no-smudge, quick drying formula

I read some online reviews of Fantasy, and two people stated it made their eyelids tingle or burn upon application. This worried me! However, I haven't experienced anything like that at all! As promised, this liquid eyeliner dries fairly quickly. I wouldn't consider it smudge proof (the glitter tends to migrate a bit), but the lasting power is amazing on this eyeliner! I applied some in the mid day and by evening it was as bright as ever! I really love the diversity of this specific shade- it looks like gold foil when it dries!

Overall, I am very pleased with the formula of this liquid eyeliner. It is easy to apply thanks to a fabulous fine tipped brush, and it dries quickly, but not too quickly! The lasting power is very good, but you can expect a little bit of migration when it comes to the glittery gold specks of this particular shade. I wish the price point was a little bit more affordable, and I will note that the packaging is quite unique. I like that it is glass so you can monitor how much of the product you have left, but at the same time I do worry about product leakage and/or dropping the bottle and having a gigantic mess to look after! Klutzes beware ;)

  1. Ooooh! I wasn't sure whether I should pick this up or not, but I love the finish when it dries! As long as it stays put all day, I'm happy.

  2. How funny we posted on the same day LOL! I actually haven't tried them out yet - I know - I'm so bad...after my eye surgery I've been wearing minimum makeup on my eyes and also because my skin is so sensitive these days I haven't had a chance to try it out (been so busy and didn't want to risk a break out or reaction!). Good to know you didn't have a bad reaction.

  5. I'm glad you didn't experience any burning, that sounds scary!
The color looks so pretty! It's good to see that the lasting power is nice too, I wouldn't expect that from something of that color. Like you said, I would expect migration.

  7. Great post.. I haven't tried mine on my eyes yet as it has been way to nasty & humid here that I barely want to even wear makeup. Hopefully I will be lucky and it won't burn my eyes either. I find the price a little high too and although the bottle is cute I am not sure how easy it is going to be to get the last of the product out. As for leaks I don't think you will have that problem but dropping is another story.. What a mess that would be!!!

  20. The colour of this eye liner is dark and can be use only in parties. Eyes are a focal point of your face and can reflect your emotions and your personality, I feels that the colour of the eye liner must be natural SO instead of this eye liner I prefer stila glitter eye liner. Which I recently found at Xtras Online. I suggest you to try this one also.
