Rocky Mountain Soap Companies Aloe Hydrating Toner (note: sent to me for review) |
Rocky Mountain Soap Companies Aloe Hydrating Toner ($25.00) is made with aloe vera and witch hazel, and is meant to bring the pH of the skin back into balance after cleansing. It is a hydrating toner that will work for sensitive skin and everything in between. I have acne-prone skin and thought I wouldn't like this toner as much as my favourite toner, Tea Tree Water by LUSH cosmetics. However, I was proven wrong! I love this toner! It smells really nice (I think it is the jasmine oil) and it leaves my face refreshed and hydrated. I actually have grown to prefer this toner because it leaves my face feeling very clean and bright, not at all tight or dry. I highly recommend this 100% natural product to anyone looking for a toner that works effectively and smells nice- the packaging is also lovely as it comes in a pretty glass bottle with a high quality spray nozzle! I will definitely keep this bottle once the product is gone and re-use it.

I finally got my hands on the Coralista by benefit ($36.00/120g)! I had been eyeing this blush for a while now, and lusting after it as I saw it reviewed and raved about time and time again by other beauty bloggers like Amy at the pretty vain. This coral pink blush goes on a little sheer, as you can see in my swatch. It is no where near as pigmented as bella bamba! It has a light scent which is very noticeable during application. The brush that came with the blush is seemingly useless and it is sitting with some of my other make up junk currently. I would not recommend using it unless you're desperate.
The blush itself has a lovely shimmer and when I apply it, it appears extremely natural on my face. It gives me a subtle glow without being too obvious. I find bella bamba to be more 'in your face', where you can totally tell I am wearing blush. With coralista, it is barely noticeable and I quite like that. I have been applying bella bamba with coralista as well and they look great combined together!!
I would say this blush is best for those with fair skin. I find it to be very sheer and it might not show up very noticeably on darker skin tones. It applies nicely and gives me a beautiful glow, but as with all benefit products, it is a little bit pricey. Overall, I am happy with the blush and will definitely incorporate it into my every day routine!

ReplyDeletedefinitely try it out! I thought it would be too much for my skin since it is 'moisturizing' but it is making my skin very happy indeed!
DeleteThis toner sounds great...I am currently using The Body Shop toners and I really like it.
ReplyDeleteI have the body shops tea tree toner and have yet to try it out!
Deletehi there! coming from the hop!
ReplyDeletevisit nichollvincent.blogspot.com!
have a wonderful day!
thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteThe toner sounds really nice I'm all for something that makes your skin feel soft. Coralista is a pretty color Benefit does make some awesome blushes. Interesting that it has a smell to it tho. Right now I'm totally loving The balm Hot Mama :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried anything from the Balm yet!! the toner is awesome and I totally love it. I will be sad when it runs out but I want to try Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner next!!
DeleteI definitely want to try out this toner!!
ReplyDeleteit is so awesome :)
DeleteI haven't tried Coralista, but I love Bella Bamba! It is pretty pigmented and in your face though. I haven't used a toner in spray form before, I'm really wanting to try the Lush one! :)
ReplyDeleteme too! I think I actually like bella bamba better which is funny because I thought I wanted the coralista more!
DeleteLUSH makes an awesome line of toners, I love the tea tree one :)
I am not too familiar with the benefit boxed blushes...I found that Hoola went a little patchy on me so I haven't wanted to try the other versions...however both Bella Bamba and Coralista are shades that are right up my alley and my curiosity is getting the better of me!!...I have really been into the Tarte Amazonian CLay Blushes...I have been switching between Tipsy and Exposed :)
ReplyDeleteMy go-to toner is the Clarins Toning Lotion with Iris for Combo/Oily Skin. I have been using this for about 2 years now. I like it because it is Alcohol Free and doesnt dry my skin out while helping my skin feel balanced after cleansing.

I have heard nothing but good things about the tarte blushes. I think their packaging is turning me off though- it isn't pretty and looks kind of cheap? However it is NOT cheap at all! haha.
DeleteThat toner sounds lovely! I am thinking of trying apple cider vinegar as a toner next- have you ever tried that?
i didn't like benefit :( the toner looks promising as well!:)
ReplyDeletelove your blog!

you don't like benefit? why not!
DeleteA lady from the benefits counter recommended this blush to me when i was in nyc. I really like the colour of the blush and have still got to go buy it. [=
ReplyDeleteI love their blushes! great quality and pretty packaging :)
DeleteThe Benefit blush brushes are total crap. I wish they'd either stop including them or make them useful so that I wouldn't feel so guilty throwing them out! I'm really bad about toner, I rarely use it...maybe I just haven't found one that has really impressed me. Could RMSC be the one??
ReplyDeleteYES! they are really kind of pointless. why do they bother, I wonder?
Deletetoner is very important ! you should definitely try to use one more often :)
I've heard quite a bit about the Coralista blush from different beauty gurus, I think I prefer a more sheer blush since it tends to look more natural. I do love the color it shows! Also, like Jayne, I tend not to really use toner. I like the way some make my skin feel but I usually don't keep up with it like I should. I guess I haven't find the right one either.
ReplyDeleteGreat reviews! (:
yes it is a lovely blush ! it really brightens up my complexion in a natural way.
DeleteI hope you find a great toner that suits your needs- they're important to keep your skin looking primo!
Hi! Thanks for your comment on my post :) I love toners too and this one sounds great - witch hazel and jasmine oil? Nice!
ReplyDeleteno problem :) thanks for following my blog as well ! love other bbloggers from the GTA!
DeleteI didn't expect Coralista to be considered on the sheer side, but that doesn't bother me too much as I find very pigmented blushes trickier to work with. I really want to try Benefit blushes (Hervana especially), they're just so pricey where I live.
ReplyDeleteyes I thought it'd be pigmented like bella bamba but it really is not! that surprised me, but I wasn't too bothered by it because as you said, it makes it much easier to work with.
DeleteI've heard great things about witch hazel (and aloe of course) - this sounds great!!
ReplyDeleteAnd my shopping list just became two products longer :P Always love your reviews girl!

I too use the hydrating toner from Rocky Mountain Soap Company and LOVE it! It smells so nice and makes my skin happy.
ReplyDeleteAs for blush, I am a die-hard MAC Peaches fan.
