Exfoliation is a necessary step for anyone who wants to have glowing healthy skin. It can help combat acne, clogged pores, hyperpigmentation and dry skin.
In the summer, it is important to incorporate a great exfoliation routine to ensure your tanned skin, facial skin and feet stay smooth and soft. I love exfoliating! It is very relaxing for me. I thought I would share my favourite exfoliation products and routine with you all.
In the shower (every other day):
I will always exfoliate my face with my Sephora Pore Cleansing Pad alongside a very gentle facial cleanser. I do this as soon as I enter the shower. At the very end of the shower, I also apply LUSH Ocean Salt to my face on areas that usually get dry (my nose area and chin). I will note that for people with sensitive skin, Ocean Salt should be used 1-2 times a week at the most. The pore cleansing pad from Sephora is very soft and non-abrasive, and could be used by people with sensitive skin easily every day.
For my feet, I use a sugar scrub and my foot file. I do this in the shower because the hot water softens my feet and makes it easier to remove the dead skin.
For the rest of my body (shoulders, back, arms) I will use LUSH Rub Rub Rub and/or an exfoliating soap. Pictured here is LUSH's porridge soap, which has actual oatmeal in it for a soft and gentle exfoliation. It smells amazing too!
Exfoliation necessities for in the shower! LUSH porridge soap, Cake citrus squeeze sugar scrub, Quo foot file, LUSH ocean salt, LUSH rub rub rub, pore cleansing pad |
I use LUSH's Bubblegum lip scrub to keep my lips soft and smooth.
With all of the scrubbing and rubbing I do in the shower to keep my body extra soft, it is important to incorporate some moisture afterwards. I always lather up my face with an oil-free moisturizer, my body with a soothing cream like LUSH dream cream, and my feet and hands with an extra softening body butter like LUSH lemony flutter.
Add a little moisture to your routine! |

the porridge soap smells soooo amazing. I keep it in a plastic container and sometimes I open it simply to smell it. Great Review <3

yes exfoliating the entire body in the summer is important! in the winter I might not be as vigilant with it because dry skin + too much exfoliation = ouchie.
DeleteI love Ocean Salt!!! Its my favourite exfoliator besides St. Ives. I love how it works as both a face and body exfoliator. Your reviews are amazing and you are really making me want to try the Porridge Soap.

Hi Steph. quick and random question for you. If you could recommend one and only one LUSH product of your choice to someone what would it be? Thank a bunch:) I might have the opportunity to go tomorrow and I know your a GREAT person to ask! I wish I was a millionaire, I'm on a tight budget hahah:P
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh.. only one?! that is so hard. I am getting back to you pretty late on this, I worked a lot this weekend sorry!!
DeleteI would say either:
1. lemony flutter (for hands, elbows, knees, feet)
2. ocean salt (facial exfoliator)
3. a bar soap or body butter for the shower
do you take baths? they have amazing bath stuff too!!
