Victoria's Secret says this highlighter is like 'beauty sleep in a pen'- it contains advanced optical diffusers and luminous diamond powder to brighten the look of dark under eye circles and reduce the appearance of fine lines. They also have a line of brightening concealer pens that seem to be an imitation of YSL's touche eclat- these pens brighten but also camouflage. I swatched all of them and decided on the original eye-brightening pen because I usually wear a bb cream which already mildly conceals any under eye discolouration. The swatch of the eye brightening pen really, really impressed me! It was so incredibly luminous.
The VSPro Light FX Eye-Brightening Pen |
As you can see in the above swatches, this pen is similar to a regular highlighter. It is very lightweight and goes on with ease. The actual colour is a shimmery champagne with pink undertones. I simply dab some under my eye, and then pat on with my finger. I find this product to drastically brighten my under eye area, making me look more awake and refreshed. When blended, the shimmer is subdued and not at all in your face. It doesn't look like I am wearing glitter. I have noticed that this product will settle into my under eye crease as the day goes on, which is not very nice. This product can also be used on the inner corners of you eye, cheek bones etc., but I personally only use it for my under eye area.
Overall, this is a lovely product and much more affordable than YSL's touche eclat. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, this may be it! The concealer pens only come in three shades, however.

Mimika's Little Wonderland
The one I got is just a highlighter, so it isn't the same but I totally love it!
DeleteNot a bad price for that. I haven't bought any makeup from VS in years!
ReplyDeletethis is the first VS makeup product I've ever bought! but I love it!

DeleteOh man! I'm going to have to try this, I've wanted to get the YSL...but you know. HAHA I hate sparkles under my eyes, but I might give this a go.
ReplyDeleteyou should get the concealer pen! it isn't as shimmery and more like the YSL touche eclat!
DeleteI've never heard of this! Right now I'm using the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer and I quite like it :)
ReplyDeleteI hadn't ever heard of it 'til I walked into VS and saw it! but it caught my eye ;)
DeleteGood Review! I don't think we have a VS in Winnipeg... In anycase, the creasing under the eye is a HUGE pet peeve of mine..which is a reason I'm always scared of concealer...I have to find the perfect product. I picked up Benefit's Stay Put..I hope that works... :/
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your review on it! Lately I've become obsessed with my gross under eye area. I never noticed 'til recently that it looks so bad!
DeleteThat looks fantastic.. I have been wanting to try the YSL but just can't justify spending the money.. the nearest VS is 40 min away from me but I will definitely check it out next time I am at that mall :)
ReplyDeletexo
yes, $50+ for a product I may not like is a little bit of an investment! When I saw this I was so excited because it was a rip-off that was pretty and much cheaper!
DeleteI have tried the garnier brightener but this one looks much more illuminating! Thanks for the swatches!
ReplyDeleteno problem :) I've heard about the Garnier one too, but I def love this one!

DeleteVery nice!! I have a Guerlain Perfect Light Illuminator one and it is really nice too when I think of using it... We are finally getting VS here sometime in Aug I believe!
ReplyDeleteooh that sounds nice, too! albeit more expensive than mine I am guessing?
DeleteI always see people posting about touche eclat and other highlighters but have never owned any. I am leaning towards trying one out though :) This one looks neat!
ReplyDeleteyes it is less expensive which is what really sealed the deal for me!
DeleteWhat a beautiful shimmer! I think my touche eclat is going to last me a long time so I don't think I'll be able to try this any time soon, but wonderful review as always!
ReplyDeleteI would never try to come in between you and your touche eclat!! its a special product forever for you, I am sure <3
