REVIEW: NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in nude peach fuzz

NYX Xtreme Lip Cream in Nude Peach Fuzz
The NYX Xtreme Lip Cream is the first product I have tried by the NYX brand. Ridiculously, eBeauty.ca valued this lip cream at $17.99 in its beauty bag! The NYX website lists this product at a retail value of $6.00. eBeauty seemed to be inflating the value just a tad bit, no?
Regardless, I was excited to receive a new lip colour, and I loved the look of Nude Peach Fuzz when I swatched it! This product is made to provide extreme pigmentation with a silky, shiny finish. NYX says it is a hybrid of lipstick, lip gloss and lip stain! Nude Peach Fuzz is definitely the type of lip colour I LOVE, and out of the 11 shades I think it would've been my #1 pick so I was glad to receive it.
When I first applied this product to my lips, I couldn't believe how pigmented it was! It is a little tricky to apply because of the creamy texture- it can apply streaky and unevenly so you have to mess around with it a bit. Once you get the finish you desire, the colour is extremely vibrant on the lips and completely opaque. The consistency is smooth, but not sticky.
As I continued to wear this product through the day, the cream seemed to wear off with normal wear and tear, but some colouring remained on my lips, which would be the lip stain part of the equation. I was very pleased with the overall lasting power of the colour, especially for a lip cream . This product is not moisturizing, and I did feel my lips were left dry after wearing it. This could be remedied by applying lip balm under the lip cream, however.

Overall, I am very pleased with this product! It is a great shade. It is not sticky like many lip glosses, and it has great wearing power. The pigmentation rocks and I can only imagine how vibrant some of their more intense shades would look on the lips!
Have you tried NYX lip creams? Tell me your thoughts!

    1. I know, that is just ridiculous! They were clearly trying to inflate the value of the bag, but this is just overkill.

  7. I've heard a lot about their lip creams, unfortunately I've yet to try anything from NYX. I want to try their jumbo pencils so bad!
These seemed like they would be kind of drying to me based on swatches but it seems that a lip balm underneath would fix that, like you said. I'm glad you provided a swatch on your hand and on your lips, it's such a pretty nude. Great review!

    1. Yes it is a bit drying, but most lip products that give a look like this are! I love the fact that the lip tint remains after the sheen has worn away :)

  8. I love these! I have four of them. I love the formula. I was a bit heavy handed with them at first and didn't like it but after much experimentation I've found the right balance. Buttery Nude is in my purse all the time. Absolute Red is my new go to for a vampy red lip. I have swatches on my blog if you're interested. http://bataneyelash.blogspot.com/2012/04/nyx-xtreme-lip-cream-in-bonfire-and.html

    1. I know- I think they were inflating the overall value of the beauty bag by doing that, which is shady business practice IMO!

  13. I do like the NYX lip creams for sure! Lots of colour and the texture is quite nice, but you're right, they leave your lips feeling pretty dry which is why I don't wear them too often. Nude Peach Fuzz is pretty on you! Would you ever try like a crazy red in these lip creams?

    1. I probably would not. I am not a red lip kind of girl (or a brown lip kind of girl). I like pinks and nudes mostly. what about you?

  14. Such a pretty shade, I love peachy nudes like it :) Also your nails are gorgeous!

  15. Can you do a post about applying perfume? Ways to get a subtle sent and not overdo it? I want to start wearing perfume, but I don't want it to be too noticeable at the office.

    1. I would say it really depends on which scent you pick. Some are much more overpowering- start with a subtle perfume that you enjoy the scent of, and just spritz it once on your wrist, then rub your wrists together and end by dabbing them just under your ear on your neck. It'll give you a bit of scent but nothing that will offend your co workers!

  16. Hi! I'm a new follower from the blog hop(:

I just bought my first NYX product the other day, their Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp, and it sounds a lot like this product. It's really creamy and looks weird when it's first applied but once it sets it looks great!
